No matter what is taking place in your life, you are the only person who can be of control of your attitude. It is your choice to make whether you are going to look positively at a situation or not. When life is running smoothly we approach each day with a positive outlook. However, when it seems like not another thing can go wrong, how will that reflect in your attitude?
Think back in your life to a time when your attitude choice made all the difference in the outcome of a situation. Perhaps you can think of someone else where their attitude played a big part in the results of a situation in their life.
The time in my life that comes to mind is when, after twelve years, I got divorced. My girls were nine and ten. I was truly devastated but after much thought and prayer came to the conclusion that it was not going to do me any good to wallow in self pity. Negativity and playing a victim only immobilizes us from doing the things we need to do. My children had already gone through enough. They did not need a weeping mother around. I needed to be positive and strong and put out lives together.
Are there times in your life that you can think of where because you, or someone else, looked at things with a positive attitude things that looked bleak ended on a positive note. No matter what is transpiring in your life have you ever thought of why it is crucial to maintain a positive attitude? This is an excellent question. I am sure we can all agree that we have learned that things in our life do not always go the way we have planned or want. It would a dream come true if for the remainder of our lives all aspects of every day were compiled of perfect relationships, happiness and peace. More than likely, this will not happen. Life has a way of throwing us a curve ball when we least expect it.
Our lives can be laced with possible heartaches, such as a divorce or broken relationships, the death of a love one, or possibly the loss of a job. The way we choose to accept these trials and tribulations will make a tremendous difference on how we come through them. In the midst of our darkest hours we can always remember better times, or things that we need to be thankful for. Look at your hardship in a positive light instead of dwelling on the fact that things are not going your way. Search for a lesson that can be learned going through your hard times.
Instead of wallowing in a "victim" mentality, it will make a big difference if you recall the blessings in your life and look at things in a positive light.
A positive attitude is an element that attracts a positive result! We have all heard about the law of attraction. If you are a negative person you will most likely end up in a negative situation. If you portray a positive attitude this will greatly ordain positive results in the future path of your life. Remember the story about the "Little Engine that Could"? We are just like that. If we are in a situation and choose the attitude that we will never make things right... we probably will not. If we choose to be positive and forge ahead knowing that we can make it through anything, then we will be amazed at the results.
An important thing to remember is that people see us and the kind of person we are by our choices. A negative person is by no means a pleasure to be around. A negative attitude can also affect our employment. Our attitude, positive or negative, speaks volumes about who we are. Working on having a good attitude is the first major step we can take in self improvement.
